Sliding Calculation

Can we use both side pressure and base friction against sliding?
You can use below loads for sliding calculation. Please do not forget multiple them with reduction factors.
Shear load + Soil lateral load = Acting lateral load (ALL)
Passive pressure at pad area depth X Pad Area = Footing lateral resisting (FLR)
Vertical Load+Soil Load+Concrete Load = Friction Resisting Load (FRL)
FLR+FRL > ALL
